Medical Assistant

This program will be 720 hour total clock hours/24 week course. This includes 540hr/18 week program, includes 282 hrs. Lecture and 258 hrs. Laboratory skills training and a mandatory 180 hr. un-paid on–the-job externship clinical experience. The school arranges the externship, and receives no money for graduates performing externship. Externship students will be supervised by the participating facilities instructor and followed up by the school administrator. Students will be expected to perform 120 successful vein punctures as well as complete minimum of 80% of student achievement skills record for externship to successfully fulfill requirements of externship. Participants perform and master skills necessary to seek employment as a medical assistant. Students in the Medical Assistant Program will be expected to participate in giving and receiving vein punctures (blood draws) and EKG’s during lab practice. Tuition will be $12,000.00 plus a $100.00 non refundable supplies fee.

Certified Nursing Assistant

The Certified Nursing Assistant program prepares the student for employment in a variety of entry-level medical fields. Students will be following the curriculum of instruction as described in the 1991 State of Michigan Nurse Aide Training Curriculum Model. Students will be trained to perform the specific nursing skills that are required to pass the skills portion of the State of Michigan Nurse Aide Certification Examination as administered by Thompson Prometric. Students will also be instructed and tested on the concepts and information which are required for the written portion of the State of Michigan Nurse Aide Certification Exam as administered by Thompson Prometric. The tuition for this program is $960.00 plus a $25.00 non- refundable supplies fee.

Patient Care Technician

This program will be 383 hour total clock hours/13 week course. This includes 255hr/7 week program, includes 170 hrs. lecture and 93 hrs. Laboratory skills training. Graduates, if eligible, are able to participate in an additional 120 hr. un-paid on–the-job externship clinical experience. The school arranges the externship, and receives no money for graduates performing externship. Externship students will be supervised by the participating facilities instructor and followed up by the school administrator. Students will be expected to perform 120 successful vein punctures to successfully fulfill requirements of externship. Participants perform and master the skills necessary to perform as a patient care technician. Students will also be eligible to take the State of Michigan certification test for Certified Nursing Assistant and the Certified Home Health Aide proctored examination offered by the National Association of Home Care and Hospice. Students in the Patient Care Technician Program will be expected to participate in giving and receiving vein punctures (blood draws) and EKG’s during lab practice. Tuition for this program is $3495.00 plus a $100.00 non-refundable supplies fee.

Phlebotomy Technician

This program will be 240 hour total clock hours/10 week course. This includes 140hr/4 week program, includes 110 hrs. Lecture and 30 hrs. Laboratory skills training. Graduates, if eligible, are able to participate in an additional 100 hr. un-paid on–the-job externship clinical experience. The school arranges the externship, and receives no money for graduates performing externship. Externship students will be supervised by the participating facilities instructor and followed up by the school administrator. Students will be expected to perform 75 successful vein punctures to successfully fulfill requirements of externship. Participants perform and master the skills necessary to seek employment as a phlebotomy technician. Students in the Phlebotomy Technician Program will be expected to participate in giving and receiving vein punctures (blood draws) during lab practice.
